A stoppage-time equaliser from Nuremberg forward Sebastian Polter has denied Hannover their first away win in 14 weeks.
Polter smashed Timothy Chandler's low cross into the top-left corner of Ron-Robert Zieler's net to register his fourth goal of the season with just seconds of the game remaining.
Hannover, who climb two places to eighth in the Bundesliga table, took the lead on 41 minutes thanks to Szabolcs Huszti.
Timm Klose then headed home from Hiroshi Kiyotake's free kick to level the scores eight minutes into the second half, before Didier Ya Konan restored Hannover's advantage with a drilled effort from 10 yards.
Polter's late leveller means that Nuremberg are now unbeaten in three games and they jump one place to 13th.
