Jimmy Briand has finally made a decision on his future by signing a one-year contract with Bundesliga side Hannover.
The 29-year-old was a free agent following his release from Lyon at the end of last season, and his move to the German club encouraged a positive response from sporting director Dirk Dufner.
"Jimmy Briand has quite a flexible profile, allowing him to play on the wing or through the middle of the attack," Dufner told the club's official website.
Briand has admitted that he is excited by the prospect of playing in the Bundesliga after spending the entirety of his career so far in France.
"The Bundesliga is a new experience for me, for which I am very pleased," the forward revealed. "I'm curious about playing in a league in the country of the world champions, after many years in the French Ligue 1."
Briand was restricted to just 20 appearances for Lyon last season.
