Bundesliga side Hannover have signed Energie Cottbus goalkeeper Robert Almer on a one-year contract.
The 30-year-old, who is expected to be back-up to Ron-Robert Zieler, made 18 appearances for his previous club in the third tier of German football.
"We are reacting to our goalkeeper situation and are delighted to have managed to get such an experienced custodian," said Hannover's director of sport Dirk Dufner.
Hannover begin their Bundesliga campaign against Schalke at home on August 23.
