Hannover 96 are hoping that they can convince striker Mame Biram Diouf to reject a move away and sign a new deal at the club.
The former Manchester United man has been in impressive form this season, scoring 12 goals in 21 appearances for Die Roten.
His performances have not gone unnoticed either, as reports suggest that rival clubs are preparing moves for the 25-year-old. However, despite the speculation, Hannover boss Mirko Slomka has revealed that the club will offer the Senegal international a new deal.
"Mame Biram Diouf is an exceptional striker," Slomka told ZDF Media. "We are happy to have him at our club and we will do our best to ensure that he remains with us.
"It is normal that other clubs are interested in a player like this. That does not mean that he automatically has to move clubs.
"My wish is to see a contract extension with Diouf put in place."
Diouf moved to the AWD-Arena in January 2012 on a two-year contract.
