Hearts have been relegated from the Scottish Premiership despite a 4-2 win away at Partick Thistle, as St Mirren scored two late goals to win 3-2 at home to Motherwell.
Dale Carrick levelled for Hearts after Kris Doolan had given Partick an early lead. Billy King made it 2-1, before a quickfire brace from Ryan Stevenson ensured Hearts took all three points.
However, the three points counted for nothing as St Mirren triumphed 3-2 over Motherwell, despite trailing by a goal with four minutes to go.
Henri Anier and Chris Sutton put the visitors 2-0 ahead inside half an hour as it looked as though it would be an easy afternoon for the Steelmen. Steven Thompson got a goal back for St Mirren just before the break and he got the winner from the spot in the 87th minute after Kenny McLean had levelled a minute earlier.
In the only other 3pm kickoff, St Johnstone won 2-1 at Kilmarnock. All the goals came in the first half, and Robbie Muirhead put Kilmarnock ahead after just five minutes. However, Frazer Wright and Steven Anderson turned the game around.
In the 12.45pm kickoff, Celtic beat Dundee United 2-0 thanks to goals from Giorgos Samaras and Anthony Stokes.
