New Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin have completed the signing of Kaiserslautern midfielder Alexander Baumjohann.
The deal to bring Baumjohann to the capital is a free transfer, with the contract running until the end of 2016.
"In Alexander Baumjohann we have managed to acquire a player who is experienced but also versatile," Hertha's sporting director Michael Preetz told Bundesliga.com.
Baumjohann said that he was looking forward to helping the club establish itself in the Bundesliga.
"I'm really looking forward to the challenge at Hertha," he said. "I want to play my part so that we - the club, the team and the fans - can achieve our objectives."
Baumjohann had five goals and 11 assists in the 2. Bundesliga last season.
