Midfielder John McGinn has opened talks with Hibernian over a potential move to Easter Road.
McGinn is looking to depart St Mirren after his contract expired at the Buddies, but should he sign with Hibs, they would be required to pay a developmental fee to their Scottish Championship rivals.
Despite being just 20 years of age, McGinn has made 99 appearances for St Mirren in all competitions, scoring four goals.
Last month, he hit the headlines for seeking legal action after he was spiked in the thigh by a pole thrown by Steven Thompson during a training-ground prank.
