Huddersfield Town skipper Peter Clarke has been ruled out for up to two months with a knee injury.
The centre-back suffered the ligament damage in Saturday's defeat against Birmingham City after being caught in a challenge with on-loan Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
"The incident set the tone. The pass was horrible to him and he came off second best, which he doesn't do very often," Huddersfield boss Mark Robins told reporters at a press conference.
"He has injured his medial ligament and is looking at between four to eight weeks out."
Clarke has been with Huddersfield since 2009.
