Huddersfield survive a second-half Wolves comeback to win 2-1 at the Galpharm Stadium, a victory which sees them climb to third in the table.

Huddersfield Town climbed above their opponents and back into the Championship playoff places with a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Galpharm Stadium.

The Terriers were two goals ahead inside half an hour as Simon Grayson's shrewd use of the loan market paid dividends.

James Vaughan, a temporary signing from Norwich City, headed in from Jack Hunt's cross on 10 minutes for his third Huddersfield goal.

Another loan recruit, Jermaine Beckford, put Town further in front with a superb acrobatic effort from Adam Clayton's deep cross - his second goal since arriving from Leicester City.

Despite having their own loan signing, Jermaine Pennant, making his debut and Kevin Doyle returning from injury, Wolves created little in terms of goalscoring chances.

In-form Bakary Sako endeavoured to find the visitors a way back into the match, and did so by providing Sylvan Ebanks-Blake for his sixth of the season.

The Frenchman linked up well with Stephen Ward down the left before cutting inside and whipping a cross in for Ebanks-Blake to turn in at the near post.

Half-time substitute David Edwards twice came close to levelling the scores as he firstly had his strike from outside the box deflected over by Anthony Gerrard.

From the resulting corner, the Welshman struck the post with a glancing header as Huddersfield hung on to claim the points.
