Huddersfield Town manager Simon Grayson has launched a dig at Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean for publicly expressing his admiration for striker Jordan Rhodes.
The former Premier League side, who were demoted to the Championship last season, have been in pursuit of the forward, who scored 40 goals for Huddersfield last season, but have had one bid knocked back by the Terriers.
"I think things should be done in private but some clubs don't do that," BBC Sport quotes Grayson as saying.
"Maybe they're trying to unsettle the player or prove their ambition to their fans and get them onside. That's for them to do. Our stance is the same; no-one has got anywhere near our valuation of him."
The 22-year-old has been with Huddersfield since 2009.
