Hull City striker Sone Aluko has revealed that he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from an Achilles injury.
The 24-year-old, who recently signed a new contract with the club, has been out of action since the start of November.
However, Aluko is confident that he will return to the pitch before the end of the month.
"I'm trying not to set any deadlines and I'm just taking it day by day, but so far it's gone according to plan and I think I'm maybe even ahead of schedule so hopefully I'll be back playing soon," he told the club's official website.
"It was frustrating to get the injury but that's life and sometimes you just have to knuckle down and get through these things.
"I believe that when I get back playing, I'll hit the ground running and recapture the form I was in before."
Hull City are back in action on Saturday when they play host to Chelsea in the Premier League.
