Iceland boss Lars Lagerback has told Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo that he should not have expected an easy game against his team.
After the European Championship debutants held Portugal to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night, Ronaldo criticised the mentality of Iceland as they celebrated a point from their first fixture at a major tournament.
However, Lagerback has hit back at the Real Madrid star by saying that he should not have underestimated his side in Saint-Etienne.
Lagerback told reporters: "That's like it is in football. You can choose to play the football you like. It's very common among players and coaches that if they are expecting to win, they always blame the opponent.
"They have to play better if they want to beat Iceland, simple as that for me."
Iceland are back in action when they face group leaders Hungary on Saturday.
