Ipswich Town have announced that David McGoldrick has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad after sustaining a groin injury.
The striker, who made his international debut for Martin O'Neill's side last year, was included in the team for the upcoming qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.
However, the 27-year-old picked up the injury during yesterday's 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship, preventing him from joining up with his national side.
McGoldrick has scored three goals in seven appearances in all competitions for Ipswich so far this season.
