Aaron Cresswell focuses on positives

Ipswich defender Aaron Cresswell believes that his side's draw against Barnsley was a good point, despite extending their winless streak to seven games.

Ipswich Town defender Aaron Cresswell has urged the club to take the positives out of their 1-1 draw with Barnsley this afternoon.

Cresswell scored the opener but Barnsley hit back with a goal of their own to continue the Tractors' torrid run of form, which now stretches to seven games without a win.

However, Cresswell believes that today's result should be looked at as a point won rather than another failure to pick up maximum points.

"It's been tough recently so we've got to take the positives from the game," Cresswell told the club's official website.

"I thought first half we knocked the ball about well but to be fair to Barnsley, they've had us under pressure towards the end so I think we have to take the positives from the game and look at it as a good point.

"Defending comes first for me but if a goal comes my way then it's a bonus and I'm delighted to have scored today. We've worked on the routine in training for a while now and luckily for me it came off today and it gave us a great start, but unfortunately it wasn't quite enough for the win."

Ipswich will look to end their winless streak on Tuesday when they face Brighton & Hove Albion.
