Ipswich Town captain Luke Chambers says that skippering the Tractor Boys to playoff glory would be his proudest moment in football.

Captain Luke Chambers has revealed that leading Ipswich Town into the Premier League would represent his proudest moment in football.

The Tractor Boys head into their penultimate Championship clash against Nottingham Forest sixth in the standings, with a three-point cushion in the playoff places.

Mick McCarthy's side conclude the regular season with a trip to Blackburn Rovers on the final day, and writing in his programme notes ahead of Saturday's visit of Forest, the skipper said: "We all want to realise our dreams of playing in the Premier League. That's where everybody wants to be and I'm no different. I'm approaching 30 now and I know my best chance is making it with Ipswich. That's what I want and nothing would make me prouder.

"It's something I dream about but there's still a hell of a long way to go yet and we've got a very difficult game against Nottingham Forest to get through yet before then facing Blackburn on the final day.

"Then we can start looking at the playoffs, should we make it that far. All I will say is there's nobody who will want to be in those end of season playoffs more than the lads in this dressing-room, that's how hungry we are as a team to be successful together at this club."

Ipswich have been absent from the top flight for 13 years.
