Ipswich Town claim a 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers to move back into the playoff places in the Championship.

Ipswich Town have reignited their promotion challenge by claiming a 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers this evening.

Jonathan Parr had the first attempt on goal for the hosts, but was only able to direct his volley over the bar.

Ipswich came close again when Freddie Sears stole possession from Tim Ream and drove through on goal before seeing his effort saved by Ben Amos.

The visitors gradually became more of an attacking threat as the first half wore on, and in the space of a minute Liam Trotter and Craig Davies both dragged shots wide of the post.

With the game approaching half time Rochinha nearly gave Bolton the lead, but after a fine solo run he dragged his effort wide.

As the game approached the hour mark Cole Skuse came within inches of giving Ipswich the lead when his powerful volley came crashing off the post.

The hosts continued to press for the opening goal and Daryl Murphy tried his luck with a low strike that sailed wide of the target.

Ipswich finally made their pressure count with 11 minutes of the match left, as Jay Tabb turned the ball into the net from Murphy's cross.

In the final moments of the game Davies had a great chance to level the scores, but he could only place his header wide of the post and Ipswich held on to record their first win in five league games.
