Timm Klose scores a stoppage-time leveller in order to earn Norwich City a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town in the Championship.

Timm Klose's injury-time header ensured that Norwich City came from behind to claim a point from the East Anglian derby as the Canaries drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town at Carrow Road in the Championship this afternoon.

Luke Chambers's late header had looked to have earned Town their first away victory in the Old Farm clash since 2006, but Klose hit back with one of the last touches of the contest to hand Daniel Farke's side a memorable point.

Town started the game with laudable intensity and their industrious pressing had Farke's charges under pressure from the off.

Threatening down the right, Ipswich almost took the lead in the ninth minute when Stephen Gleeson got his head up to pick a cross-field pass for the run of Jonas Knudsen at the back post, although the wing-back could only head wide with just Angus Gunn to beat.

The away side continued to apply some early pressure and this time they were able to rob Alexander Tettey, leaving Martyn Waghorn to see a bending effort from the edge of the area tipped away by Gunn.

Norwich held much of the ball in the first period, but they were able to do little with it as Town continued to threaten on the counter, this time as Waghorn broke from deep only to be thwarted by an expert recovering tackle from Grant Hanley.

Mick McCarthy's charges might just have taken a deserved lead into the break had it not been for a busy Gunn in the Norwich goal, the keeper again doing well to save down low as Waghorn bent in a set piece that took an awkward deflection on its way to goal.

Norwich were much improved after the break and they might have grabbed the lead after just a couple of minutes, James Maddison seeing his free kick tipped over the bar, before Klose miscued just five yards out from goal.

Maddison's impact on the contest continued to grow and he might have forced his side in front 20 minutes from time, but the youngster again saw another free kick somehow turned away from goal by a sprawling Bartosz Bialkowski.

Bialkowski looked to have proved the difference in the final stages and he pulled off another standout save to deny Nelson Oliveira down low.

The save setup a tense finish and there proved to be a vital moment left in the contest, when Chambers climbed highest above Tettey in order to meet Waghorn's corner and head his side into the lead with just a couple of minutes to play.

The game was still to take another shock turn, however, as Hanley kept the ball alive during stoppage time before finding Klose in the box, leaving the Swiss international to power a header beyond Bialkowski and earn the hosts a shock point.

The late goal sees Norwich extended their unbeaten run in the derby to 10 matches in all competitions, while Town missed out on the chance to end a winless run at Carrow Road that stretches back 12 years.
