Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe on loan.
The 20-year-old, who has made two senior appearances for the Premier League champions, will remain at Portman Road until January.
Tunnicliffe said that the prospect of working with Town boss Mick McCarthy was a key factor in his decision to join the Championship club.
"Ipswich is a big club but the deciding factor was the chance to work with Mick McCarthy," he told the club's official website.
"He has managed at international level and worked in the Premier League for a number of years.
"My reserve team boss Warren Joyce knows Mick well and he said he is straight down the line and good to play for."
Tunnicliffe played three games for Barnsley during a short-term loan spell last season.
