Sunderland striker Connor Wickham has been linked with a loan return to boyhood club Ipswich Town after struggling in his first season in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old has netted on just one occasion in 15 appearances this campaign for the Black Cats and could rejoin the Tractor Boys next season to find form, according to the Sunday Sun.
Ipswich manager Paul Jewell has admitted that he will look to bring Premier League players in on loan for next season, saying: "That's one route that we're looking at. The problem is getting in quickly. I spoke to a club yesterday about a couple of their young players and the queue's a mile long."
The Tractor Boys tried to re-sign the frontman on loan earlier this season after selling him to Sunderland for around £8m, but the then Black Cats manager Steve Bruce rejected the offer.
