Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo has admitted that it was a "dream" for him to win his 100th cap for his country.
Pirlo marked the occasion by scoring in his team's 2-1 win over Mexico at the Maracana Stadium in their Confederations Cup clash on Sunday.
The 34-year-old told reporters: "First of all, it's really rewarding for me.
"It's not something everyone does. It's a great feeling to get 100 caps and to score, especially in a historic stadium like the Maracana. I could only have dreamed of this as a child.
"I was lucky enough to get 100 caps for Italy, but it's not over yet. I have other objectives, including winning the Confederations Cup."
Pirlo is the first midfielder to reach the landmark of 100 appearances for his country.
