Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has claimed that his players were tired following Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2012.
The defending champions comfortably romped to victory in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev thanks to goals from David Silva, Jordi Alba, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata.
"We were not in the good condition, we had some players not fit and against Spain you have to be at your best to win," Prandelli told reporters. "We were tired, we didn't play our football."
Spain's win saw them become the first ever team to retain the European Championship trophy.
