Kilmarnock boss Allan Johnston has revealed that Darryl Westlake's ankle injury is not as bad as first feared.
The defender was stretchered off with the problem during Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
It was thought that the 23-year-old had broken his ankle, but scans have shown that he has only suffered bruising.
"Darryl's scan came back and he hasn't got a fracture which is very good," Johnston is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"It looks as though it is just bone bruising. Hopefully it is not ligaments; that seems to be the initial reaction to the scan. It depends how it settles down but he will be out for a few weeks at the earliest."
Killie return to league action on Saturday when they entertain Hamilton Academical.
