Los Angeles Galaxy have confirmed the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic announced his move to the MLS club via a full-page advert in the LA Times, with the 36-year-old leaving United by mutual consent on Thursday.

"After being in Europe, winning 33 trophies, playing in the best teams in the world, playing with the best players in the world, I wanted to come to the US and play my game there," Ibrahimovic told the newspaper. "I wanted people to enjoy my game there and to win. And I chose the Galaxy to do that."

The experienced centre-forward scored 29 times in 53 appearances for the Red Devils, but failed to fully overcome the serious knee injury that ended his 2016-17 campaign, and was allowed to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer.

LA Galaxy confirmed the move on Friday afternoon with a video on their official Twitter page.

Ibrahimovic could make his LA Galaxy debut against local rivals Los Angeles FC on March 31.
