Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Burnley.

Taylor is out of contract at Elland Road, and refused to play for the Yorkshire club on the final day of the Championship campaign in order to avoid the risk of injury.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a transfer to West Bromwich Albion but with the teams unable to agree a price, it appears that one of their Premier League rivals is ready to step in.

According to The Sun, Burnley want to try to sign Taylor for less than Leeds's asking price of £5m, and to avoid the matter going to a tribunal.

Due to the player's age, Leeds will be due a fee and it leaves both Burnley and West Brom in a position where they need to make a firm offer before the expiration of his current deal at the end of the month.

During his time at Leeds, Taylor has made a total of 104 appearances in all competitions.
