Leeds United teenager Lewis Cook has said that he is "over the moon" to have agreed a one-year contract extension with the club.
It was announced today that the 18-year-old academy graduate had extended his stay at Elland Road until the end of the 2016-17 season.
Speaking to the club website about his new contract, Cook said: "I'm over the moon, all the hard work this season has paid off I think.
"I'm delighted to sign with Leeds United, I've really enjoyed this last season."
Cook went on to describe his debut season with the first team as a "whirlwind".
He added: "It's been a whirlwind for me, I would never have dreamt it. I never thought I would have played as many games as I did."
In total, Cook made 38 appearances for the Whites last term, including 33 starts in the Championship.
