Leicester City Supporters' Club chairman Cliff Ginnetta admits that he is "shocked" to see manager Nigel Pearson sacked.

Leicester City Supporters' Club chairman Cliff Ginnetta has expressed his shock after manager Nigel Pearson was sacked by the Premier League club on Tuesday.

The 51-year-old was dismissed less than two months after guiding the Foxes to Premier League safety following a spell when they looked destined for relegation.

A report has claimed that a major reason behind Pearson's sacking was a recent video that showed three Foxes players, including the manager's son James, racially abusing Thai women during an orgy, which they filmed.

In February, Pearson was reportedly sacked for 24 hours after appearing to grab the throat of Crystal Palace's James McArthur on the touchline at the King Power Stadium during Leicester's 1-0 defeat.

"I am very shocked to hear the news," Ginnetta told the Leicester Mercury. "I suppose things have been strained since what happened in Thailand involving Nigel's son.

"There has also been an undercurrent since Nigel's phantom sacking last year. Perhaps this latest sacking could be rescinded like last time."

Pearson spent four years in charge of Leicester.
