Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri warns fans not to expect a repeat of their title challenge next season.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has warned Foxes fans not to assume that the side will be able push for the title again next season.

The East Midlands side sit three points clear at the top of the Premier League with 15 games of the season left to play, but a pragmatic Ranieri conceded that his charges have found themselves in a "strange" position.

"A lot of people stop me on the street and say: 'I am fan of another team but if Leicester win the title I am very happy'," Ranieri told reporters on Monday. "I believe in positive energy and am a positive man, it helps. That is good, it is like David and Goliath – we are fighting.

"We are doing a fantastic season. If you see Leicester top of the league there is something strange but for us it is good. I don't know if we can win but we are working everyday with a lot of confidence.

"Now we are at a high level but it is because the league is a crazy Premier League. We want to stay at the top but now is because a lot of big teams aren't in their normal position. It is a strange league this year and a team like us can do something good. This is the right moment for us to push a lot because next season it is not the same. Next season is the truth."

Leicester welcome Liverpool - one of only two sides to beat them this season - to the King Power when Premier League action resumes tomorrow.
