Claudio Ranieri "satisfied" with Leicester City's point at Manchester United

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri says that he was pleased with his side's 1-1 draw away at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has insisted that his side did not travel to Manchester United looking to secure the three points that would have resulted in the club winning the Premier League title.

Victory at Old Trafford would have seen Leicester complete a fairytale campaign but they were only able to earn a share of the spoils in the North-West as Wes Morgan's header cancelled out Anthony Martial's opener.

However, Ranieri has said that he is satisfied with the draw that sees the Foxes extend their lead at the top of the standings to eight points.

The Italian is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "We didn't come here to win the title, we came here to make a performance because we knew it was a difficult match.

"At the start, United was better than us and we didn't find a solution to give the ball without Jamie Vardy and when we wanted to restart they maintained the ball and it was difficult for us.

"We scored in the right moment and then we got more confidence. I'm very satisfied, I am always satisfied when I see my players play as well as today."

Leicester will be crowned champions should Tottenham Hotspur fail to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.
