Claudio Ranieri: "There is one target left for us"

Leicester City's Claudio Ranieri confesses that he now only has one thing on his mind after sealing a place in the Champions League - winning the English top flight.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has admitted for the first time that his side can pull off the unthinkable and win the Premier League title.

The Foxes are now in a two-way tussle with Tottenham Hotspur at the summit of the division heading into the final few weeks of the campaign.

Ranieri has constantly played down expectations this term, despite seeing his side lead the way for large parts, but has now openly confessed that winning the title is the only target left to achieve after securing Champions League qualification.

"We are in the Champions League and well done to everybody - the owners, the fans, the players, the staff, everybody involved in it," the Italian told reporters.

"It's a great achievement, unbelievable - and now we go straight away to try to win the title. Only this remains. Mauricio [Pochettino], keep calm! I talked with my players, come on, now is the right moment to push.

"I believe, always I believe. I am a positive man, if Spurs go above us, congratulations. But I prefer to go five points up [ahead]. The Champions League is a great achievement and a great challenge - but there is one target left for us."

City will be without leading marksman Jamie Vardy for the visit of Swansea this weekend, though Ranieri is confident that his side can overcome their latest challenge.

"Without our top scorer it's not easy to play but hopefully on Sunday everybody can give something more to win the match," he added. "This will be a great battle but we want to win the league, we need to fight."

Leicester follow up Sunday's meeting with Swansea by taking on Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea in their final three games.
