Dean Hammond has said that having to face competition for places at Leicester City will help the club's players improve.
The side have been adding to their squad over the summer in preparation for a return to the Premier League, having won promotion from the Championship last season.
The midfielder told the Leicester Mercury: "You need competition for places, you need it within the whole group.
"I expect there will be more players coming in and there is competition every day in training. But that improves you as a player.
"But you want that, you want that within that group. [The new signings] can all score goals, they have all got different attributes. It will be difficult to make a decision."
Leicester will begin their Premier League season with a home match against Everton.
