Leicester City have made plans for an overhaul of their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Foxes were knocked out of the Europa Conference League semi-finals by Roma on Thursday evening, leaving them with nothing left to play for this season.
An injury-hit campaign, with first-team players such as Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana and Jamie Vardy all missing significant periods of action, has seen Leicester struggle to maintain the standards of recent years, when the East Midlands side have consistently challenged for a top-four spot in the Premier League.
However, Rodgers's side head into the weekend's action in 11th place in the table as things stand, and following Thursday's exit from Europe, the former Liverpool boss has outlined the club's plans to freshen the side up with several arrivals and departures in the summer.
The 49-year-old has said: "It is trying to keep hold of our core players and adding players who can come in and add to the team. The lads have been together for a period of time which is great so they learn and develop, but you always need a freshness and a new hunger and new quality into the team. Hopefully we can do that.
"I just think it is having more goals in the team all around. That is important. Any team needs to have goals from different areas of the field. That is definitely something we need to target in the summer."
The likes of Swansea City's Joel Piroe, and Mainz 05's Jeremiah St Juste have been linked with moves to the King Power Stadium, with new arrivals potentially being funded by the departure of several fringe players, as well as midfielder Youri Tielemans, who enters the final year of his contract this summer. body check tags ::
