Leicester City had two offers rejected for Sporting Lisbon's Andre Carrillo before they signed Nathan Dyer from Swansea City, according to reports.
The 24-year-old made 32 appearances last season for the Portuguese giants, scoring five goals, and was a part of Peru's squad that made the Copa America semi-finals.
According to Sky Sports News, the highest bid made by the Foxes was £9m, but Carrillo did not want to leave Sporting.
Dyer, who has made more than 130 previous appearances in the Premier League during his time with Swansea and Southampton, has joined Leicester on a season-long loan.
