Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy has revealed that he wants to leave the King Power Stadium to join Bordeaux.
The 25-year-old has only been part of the Foxes squad for one season, but it was a disappointing one for him as an ankle injury restricted him to just nine appearances in all competitions.
Mendy moved to Leicester from Nice for a £13m fee last summer, but it seems as though he is ready to return to France.
"I heard about the interest of Nantes but neither me nor my adviser have been contacted," L'Equipe quotes Mendy as saying. "Anyway, since my adviser talked to me about the possibility of joining Bordeaux, I'm set on it.
"I've lost a year in England because of a failed ankle surgery, which unfortunately necessitated a second operation in March. Even though I am not 100 per cent yet, I have just returned from an excellent rehabilitation phase. And now I have the hope of rallying the Girondins fairly quickly. It's even an obsession."
Mendy, who began his youth career at La Beaucaire Toulon, has also played for AS Monaco.
