Athletic Bilbao could not atone for their Europa League disappointment and fell to a 3-0 defeat away at Levante.
Abdelkader Ghezzal's right-footed shot from outside the box opened the scoring on the stroke of half time, putting the hosts in the lead.
The striker then doubled his and Levante's tally in the 67th minute after Jose Barkero's pass found him in space in the penalty box.
Francisco Farinos scored from the spot two minutes from time after Fernando Amorebieta had handled inside the area.
The win means that Levante finish fifth in La Liga, while Bilbao finish in 10th.
