Levante have played out a 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia in La Liga.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the 36th minute through Papa Babacar Diawara, who found the target from inside the penalty box.

However, six minutes later Valladolid drew level as Javi Guerra shot home Patrick Ebert's cross from close range.

There was still more drama to come in Valencia before the half-time interval as Zakarya Bergdich was sent off for bringing down Jordi Xumetra inside the visitors' 18-yard box.

Levante failed to take that opportunity to restore their lead as Andreas Ivanschitz saw his spot kick saved by Valladolid goalkeeper Diego Villar.

The hosts dominated proceedings in the second half and had a plethora of chances but failed to take them and had to settle for a point.
