Victor Casadesus has revealed that Levante manager Joaquin Caparros was one of the key reasons why the forward moved to the Valencia-based outfit.
The 28-year-old had been linked with a number of clubs in the January window, but moved to Levante from Mallorca late in the transfer window.
"I was thrilled by Caparros's call," Casadesus told reporters at a press conference.
"He made a great case for me to come here. My agent handled most of the negotiations but Caparros convinced him that this was the right move for me. As I am very close to my agent I did not doubt him at all.
"The first target here is, as always, to make sure we stay up. After that, we'll take it one game at a time but when you know you are already safe you play with a lot of freedom."
The forward has had recent loan spells at Real Sociedad and Gimnastic.
