Liverpool and Senegal attacker Sadio Mane has been crowned the Player of the Tournament for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 29-year-old smashed home the winning penalty as Senegal defeated Egypt in a tense shootout to win their first-ever AFCON title on Sunday evening.
Despite suffering a worrying head injury in his side's last-16 victory over Cape Verde, Mane featured in every game for Senegal at the tournament and finished with three goals and two assists to his name from seven matches.
Mane's stellar form in the competition has now seen him rewarded with the honour, pipping an emotional Mohamed Salah to the Player of the Tournament award after the showpiece event.
The former Southampton man now has 28 goals and 20 assists in 85 matches for Senegal, who win the AFCON title after finishing as runners-up in 2002 and 2019.
Mane prepares to return to Liverpool having scored 10 goals in all competitions this season, with the Reds now preparing to face Leicester City in the Premier League on Thursday.
