Dirk Kuyt
There are more naturally gifted players in this countdown, but few can match the workrate and endeavour shown by Dirk Kuyt during his six-year Liverpool career.
The Dutchman arrived from Feyenoord in 2006 with a reputation as a free-scoring striker, but the majority of his Liverpool career was spent in a wider role and he selflessly carried out his duties in a lesser-favoured position for the good of the team.
Kuyt did still weigh in with some valuable goals, though, finding the back of the net in the 2007 Champions League final, the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2008 Champions League and twice in a Merseyside derby against Everton that same season.
To add to that, Kuyt's first hat-trick in English football came against Manchester United, while he netted in extra time of the 2012 League Cup final to help Liverpool to the trophy - his only piece of silverware for the club.
It is a significant highlight reel for any player and, while his tally of 51 goals in 208 league games (71 in 286 across all competitions) gave him a significantly worse strike rate than his time in Holland, his penchant for turning up in the big games made him a cult hero amongst Liverpool fans.
