Jamie Redknapp
If it wasn't for a string of injuries which blighted his career, Jamie Redknapp could well have been a lot higher up this list.
The central midfielder became one of Kenny Dalglish's final signings at Liverpool when he joined from Bournemouth in 1991, and he went on to play under Graeme Souness, Roy Evans and Gerard Houllier during his 11-year stay at Anfield.
Redknapp's technique was never in doubt, with his passing ability amongst the best in the Premier League at the time, but his fitness let him down on a number of occasions.
Indeed, the former England international missed the entirety of Liverpool's treble-winning season in 2001, although as club captain he was still called up to lift the FA Cup alongside Robbie Fowler at the Millennium Stadium.
Despite his numerous injuries, Redknapp made more than 300 appearances for Liverpool and helped the club to the League Cup trophy in 1995, in addition to the Charity Shield and UEFA Super Cup in 2001.
