Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has claimed that it would be "nice" to be included in the England squad for Euro 2012.
The 23-year-old has earned plaudits for his performances in recent weeks after a disappointing first full season on Merseyside.
The £35m signing from Newcastle believes that he can still make a late push to be named in Roy Hodgson's squad next week.
"I don't want the season to end. It would be nice to go to the Euros — I have one more game to go and we'll see what happens after that," Carroll told The Sun.
"You can see see that I'm more confident now when I step out on to the pitch, and I feel I have shown that in the last couple of games.
"I'm enjoying my football as you can see from my performances."
Carroll is expected to feature for the Reds in their final game of the season at Swansea City on Sunday.
