England boss Gareth Southgate has said that the Three Lions' medical team will assess the fitness of Joe Gomez ahead of Tuesday's friendly with Italy.
On Friday night, Gomez was handed a place in the starting lineup for the fixture with the Netherlands, but the Liverpool defender was forced off after just 10 minutes due to an ankle injury.
England face Italy in three days' time, but Southgate has revealed that the 20-year-old will be checked before a decision is made regarding his availability for the match with the Azzurri.
After the match, the 47-year-old said: "We need to take a closer look. We didn't like the way he landed, he was knocked in the air. We don't know at the moment, we need to check that."
A second-half goal from Jesse Lingard earned England a 1-0 triumph in Amsterdam.
