Liverpool defender Joel Matip could miss Monday's Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace due to a groin injury.
The 31-year-old started the Community Shield win over Manchester City and the 2-2 Premier League draw against Fulham last weekend, but he is a doubt for Liverpool's first home match of the season.
A groin issue kept Matip out of Friday's training session as a precaution, and the defender will be assessed in the next 24 hours to establish whether he can feature in Monday's contest.
Liverpool are already without the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones for the home meeting with Crystal Palace.
If Matip is unable to take part at Anfield and with Ibrahima Konate out with a knee injury, Jurgen Klopp could opt for Joe Gomez to partner Virgil Van Dijk in central defence.
Gomez made only eight league appearances last season and was an unused substitute in the Community Shield and Liverpool's Premier League opener.
