Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is thought to be in with an outside chance of returning for Sunday's Premier League battle with Crystal Palace.
The versatile 30-year-old has been out of action since sustaining a groin injury in February's Merseyside derby defeat to Everton, and he has spent the past three months recovering from surgery.
Henderson is not expected to be ruled out of this summer's European Championships, although Jurgen Klopp recently downplayed his chances of featuring for Liverpool again before the season is over.
However, The Mirror reports that Henderson has been making great strides in his recovery and could be included in the squad for the final day of the season, albeit probably from the bench.
The report claims that the midfielder completed training sessions on Friday and Saturday, so Klopp may consider him for selection given that he has navigated the desired two sessions without failure.
Liverpool occupy the fourth and final Champions League spot in the table heading into the final day, with fifth-placed Leicester City only behind on goal difference.
