Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson could be out until February with a hamstring injury, according to a report.
The 27-year-old was forced off just 13 minutes into the Reds' 3-3 draw with Arsenal last week, with provisional reports suggesting that he could miss a couple of games.
According to the Daily Mail, however, scans have revealed that his injury is much worse than initially feared - a grade two muscle tear - and will keep him on the sidelines for "at least four weeks".
The news means that Henderson will definitely be out of league games against Leicester City, Burnley, Manchester City and Swansea City, as well as a Merseyside derby tie with Everton in the FA Cup third round.
Henderson has started 75% of Liverpool's Premier League games so far this term, contributing a goal and an assist to help them up to fourth in the Premier League table.
