Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Sadio Mane will be part of the squad to face Hertha Berlin in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The 25-year-old saw his debut campaign at Liverpool cut short by injury in April, and he has been working on rehabilitation following knee surgery during the club's pre-season schedule so far.
Mane returned to full training last week and could now be handed his first taste of match action against Hertha, but fellow injury concern Danny Ings is not yet ready to feature.
"Danny will not be in the squad, for him it is too early - but Sadio will be in the squad for sure," Klopp told the club's official website.
"Danny looks good – fantastically actually – but playing is a little bit different. We thought about giving him the opportunity to play with the U23s because we have the opportunity, especially with the strikers, but it makes not too much sense.
"We wanted him here so he really could train with us, but he will not be in the squad tomorrow."
Mane scored 13 goals in 27 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season.
