Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has confirmed that he is nearing a return to Merseyside after spending the summer recovering from injury in the United States.
Sturridge, whose year was littered with a succession of injuries last term, spent the pre-season programme in Boston working on his fitness ahead of the new campaign.
The England international is currently sidelined with a hip problem, and is not expected to return to action for another month, but he revealed on Instagram that he was edging closer to a return to Liverpool.
"Feeling good right now," he posted. "Home time soon."
Meanwhile, Liverpool have made a perfect start to their new Premier League campaign without Sturridge, beating both Stoke City and Bournemouth 1-0, and Brendan Rodgers's side travel to Arsenal on Monday.
