Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho sat out training on Thursday, two days before Liverpool's huge clash with top-four rivals Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Summer signing Thiago has struggled for fitness pretty much all campaign and was taken off 22 minutes from time in last weekend's 4-1 loss to Manchester City.
Fellow midfielder Fabinho, who has also filled in at centre-back over the past few months, is another who has been far from 100% due to a niggling injury issue.
Both players are now considered doubtful for this weekend's Premier League showdown with Leicester, who are positioned three points better off than fourth-placed Liverpool.
Back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was another absentee at the Reds' training HQ, while Georginio Wijnaldum was pictured training away from the rest of his teammates.
