Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was forced off early in Wednesday's Champions League match against Maribor at Anfield.
The Dutchman twisted his right ankle inside the first 15 minutes of the encounter and was replaced with captain Jordan Henderson.
Wijnaldum indicated that the injury may not be too serious as he managed to get to his feet and limp off the pitch rather than being stretchered off.
The Reds have been hampered by fitness problems of late, with Dejan Lovren and Philippe Coutinho on the treatment table, while Adam Lallana is yet to play this season.
Liverpool are yet to lose a Champions League game this season.
