Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Wednesday, January 20.

The January transfer window is now open, with Liverpool continuing to be linked with a host of big names.

Jurgen Klopp has been forced to contend with a crippling injury crisis during the first half of the season, leading to speculation that the Premier League champions could move for a new defender this month.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Wednesday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:

Inter Milan 'beat Liverpool, Leeds United to Rodrigo De Paul'

Inter Milan have reportedly identified Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul as their preferred replacement for Christian Eriksen.

The Italian giants are currently facing significant financial issues, leading to them pushing to part ways with at least one player during the January window.

Having failed to make an impact at San Siro, Eriksen is among the players who will be allowed to leave before the end of the month.

According to Tuttosport, head coach Antonio Conte would like to strengthen his squad with the addition of De Paul.

The Argentina international, who has been linked with Liverpool and Leeds United, is expected to sign for Inter during the summer transfer window.

However, the report claims that club officials are exploring ways to finalise a deal during the final 12 days of January, particularly if they can remove Eriksen's wages from their outgoings.

Liverpool 'have no plans to offer Mohamed Salah new deal'

Liverpool are reportedly in no rush to open contract discussions with winger Mohamed Salah.

Having spoken publicly about his future on more than one occasion in recent weeks, Salah's future at Anfield is a hot topic for debate.

The Egypt international, who has scored 111 goals since arriving at the club in 2017, has two-and-a-half years remaining on his existing deal.

While rival clubs are taking note of the lack of developments on Merseyside, the Daily Mail claims that Liverpool have no plans to begin negotiations over the coming months.

The report says that the Premier League champions will bide their time due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

Salah has enjoyed another productive campaign at Liverpool, contributing 16 goals and four assists in the Premier League and Champions League.
