Bayern Munich reportedly make a decision not to make an approach for an established Premier League goalkeeper in 2025.
The Bundesliga giants currently have Manuel Neuer at the helm, as they have done since the 2011-12 campaign with the Germany international having since gone on to become one of the most successful players in the club's history.
However, with Neuer now 38 years of age, Bayern officials will soon have to contemplate acquiring a younger replacement for the veteran.
Earlier this week, it was suggested that Vincent Kompany had identified a player from England's top flight who he has previously worked with earlier in his managerial career.
Nevertheless, according to a report, another stopper in the Premier League will not be making the move to the Allianz Arena.
Bayern not interested in Alisson
As per ESPN, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is not someone who is on Bayern's radar ahead of next summer.
The 32-year-old is viewed as one of the best between the sticks in world football, making a total of 271 appearances for the Merseyside giants since his arrival in 2018.
Alisson has won a Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup during his time at Anfield, as well as the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
Despite being cemented as Liverpool's number one, there has been constant talk of a big-money transfer elsewhere, Alisson in particular being linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Liverpool have also added Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili to their ranks for the 2025-26 campaign and beyond, strengthening the chances of a departure for the Brazil goalkeeper.
That said, the report says that there is no plan for Bayern to enter the race for Alisson, instead wanting to stick with their current three candidates.
Who is on shortlist?
Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen appears high on Bayern's shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window, as does Cologne's Jonas Urbig.
Both stoppers, who are 22 and 21 years of age respectively, would cost considerably less than Alisson would.
Bayern already have plans to eventually make Alexander Nubel their number one once Neuer leaves the club or hangs up his gloves, but the aforementioned duo are viewed as realistic alternatives.
